This year, Lamborghini will compete in the Le Mans Daytona Hybrid Series with its first hypercar, the SC63. Flying the SC63’s signature paintwork, the chronograph is packed with allusions to the hypercar and the world of motorsports.
Since 2017, Roger Dubuis and Lamborghini Squadra Corse have forged an alliance resulting in high-octane timepieces that reflect the Italian marque’s incredible sportscars. The new Excalibur Spider Flyback Chronograph is similar to the Lamborghini SC63.
The watch features a rare exposed integrated chronograph movement on the dial, revealing intricate details like the column wheel, the tilted balance wheel, and the twin barrels at noon. Its 3D architecture is showcased beneath a symmetrical bridge with three green bars and luminous inserts that emulate the SC63’s distinctive Y-shaped headlights.
The chronograph's dial has a two-level flange with a red and green minutes/seconds track, white-lumed hour plots, and a tachymeter scale. The elapsed times of the chronograph are displayed on a 120º rotating minutes counter at 3 o’clock with green lacquered numerals and a tripartite hand. The hour and minute hands are made of white gold with luminescent red tips, while the central chronograph seconds hand is red. The watch also features a double-digit date aperture at 6 o’clock.
The 45mm chronograph is made from lightweight grey carbon with a notched ceramic bezel outlined in green. It is 17.13mm thick and water-resistant to 100m. Powered by the calibre RD780, an automatic movement with a 72-hour power reserve and a frequency of 4Hz, the watch is certified with the prestigious Poinçon de Genève. The finishings are of the highest grade.
The Excalibur Spider Flyback Chronograph is a limited edition of 88 pieces and comes with a sporty black rubber strap with a Verde Mantis inlay and a triple-folding clasp. The watch is a perfect fusion of design and function, paying tribute to the Lamborghini SC63 hypercar.
