Hentschel Watches, a German independent brand founded by Andreas Hentschel in 1993, has gained recognition for its craftsmanship and production of high-quality mechanical wristwatches. The watches feature manual winding movements and sub-seconds on the dial, with a design inspired by classic pocket watches but with a modern twist.
Under the expert guidance of Andreas Hentschel and his team of skilled watchmakers, the workshop produces approximately 150 watches annually, ensuring each timepiece is crafted to the highest standards and remains unique.
Hentschel offers two in-house movements: the HUW 1130 S caliber and the Werk 1 caliber. The HUW 1130 S is based on the Swiss A-Schild 1130 movement and features newly constructed curved bridges and a swan's neck regulator for precise adjustment. The Werk 1 caliber draws inspiration from neo-vintage Union Glashütte and Glashütte Original watches, with exceptional finishing and the inclusion of a "Glashütte stop work" to prevent overbanking.
In terms of manufacturing, Hentschel collaborates with partners such as Moritz Grossmann and Damasko for the production of movement parts and technology, and the watch cases are manufactured by SUG in Glashütte or RM-Lifestyle in Pforzheim.
Two standout models from Hentschel are the H1 Mystique and the H2-01 Sport. The H1 Mystique features a mysterious tinted crystal over an anthracite dial, giving it a marine chronometer style. The H2-01 Sport, on the other hand, has a slim and sporty design with a modern bezel and a white dial.
Both watches are powered by Hentschel's HUW 1130 S manually wound movement and undergo a rigorous 1000-hour testing period to ensure precision. The Mystique is available in steel and white gold cases, while the H2-01 Sport comes in a brushed steel case.
Hentschel primarily caters to the German market but has begun to gain international recognition. The brand plans to create two different collections: one exclusively available through their Hamburg manufactory and another offered through selected retailers.
Overall, Hentschel Watches represents the best of German independent watchmaking, with a focus on craftsmanship, unique designs, and precision.
