During the global pandemic lockdowns, many people found themselves with more free time. Richard Benc, a creative individual, decided to bring some fun and whimsy to the watch industry. His Watermel0n watch became a hit, and he continued to release new models and color iterations.
However, Richard wanted to gain credibility as a watch company. He knew that a salmon dial watch was essential, but he decided to subvert the idea by highlighting the shimmering salmon skin instead of the flesh. This led to the creation of the Studio Underd0g Salm0n, part of their new 03SERIES.
The dial of the Salm0n watch features a dark grey gradient texture, with the typical salmon coloration on the subdial at 3 o'clock and the outer tachymeter scale. This chronograph utilizes the Sellita caliber SW520M movement, known for its reliability and precision. The watch has a diameter of 38.5mm and comes with a handmade Epsom Calfskin strap.
All Studio Underd0g watches have been assembled in Great Britain since 2023 and undergo quality control inspection and regulation by UK-based Horologium. The watches are expected to have a daily accuracy of +/- 5 seconds in 3 positions.
The Studio Underd0g Salm0n will be available for pre-order on September 17th, 2024, with a price of $2,000. The first 400 orders will be delivered in October 2024, while further orders will be delivered in January 2025.
Overall, Studio Underd0g's new "Salm0n" dial offers a refreshing take on the traditional salmon-dialed watch, showcasing the beauty of the salmon skin. With its unique design and impeccable craftsmanship, this watch is sure to captivate watch enthusiasts around the world.
