In the morning of September 28, the Flower Clocks in Krasnodar were reopened after six months of reconstruction works. This popular attraction in the city has been given a fresh look, as both the clocks and the surrounding area have been modernized. Krasnodar's mayor, Evgeny Naumov, announced the reopening on his Telegram channel, and the ceremony was attended by Vera Galushko, the chairman of the City Duma.
The Flower Clocks are located on Krasnaya Street, close to the "Aurora" cinema, in the heart of the city. However, the area behind them had been neglected for many years. The reconstruction of this location began in March 2024 and in just six months, the clocks and the surrounding area were entirely revitalized.
"In 2007, on the City Day, a new landmark was opened for Krasnodar. Now, after 17 years, the Flower Clocks and the area around them have been completely modernized. Today, according to tradition, the updated symbol of Krasnodar has returned to the intersection of Krasnaya and Gavrilova streets on City Day," wrote Naumov.
As a result of the reconstruction, a beautiful square with trees and benches has appeared near the clocks, providing a pleasant place to spend time. After the renovation, the Flower Clocks in Krasnodar became the third largest in Russia in terms of diameter, following similar objects in Moscow and St. Petersburg. A photo zone with cranes and a small park were also created near the clocks.
The renovation of the clocks themselves was carried out in Rostov-on-Don. They received a new dial and hands, modern electronic components, and lighting. It was previously announced that Krasnodar would celebrate City Day on September 28 and 29. The capital of Kuban will host festive cultural and sports events.
