Brellum, a fourth-generation watchmaker based in Switzerland, is known for their limited production of high-quality timepieces. Their latest release is the Duobox 39 Chronometer, a more compact version of one of their first chronographs. Available in limited editions of 46 pieces per color, the watch comes in blue, silver, or gray dials.
Unlike previous models, the Duobox 39 Chronometer is powered by a column-wheel movement. Despite its smaller size, the watch maintains a thickness of 15.3mm (11.05mm without crystals) and a lug-to-lug distance of 48mm. Made from stainless steel, the well-built case is water-resistant up to 100m and features satin-finished surfaces, polished pushers, and a bezel.
The sunray-brushed dial showcases a tricompax layout with a 30-minute totaliser at 3 o'clock, a 12-hour totaliser at 6 o'clock with a date aperture, and a small seconds sub-dial at 9 o'clock. The dial also includes a pulsometer scale and a precision minutes track. The three sub-dials have recessed interiors and wide brushed frames. The silver dial has a solid blue central chronograph seconds hand, while the anthracite dial has a green-tipped one, and the blue dial has a red-tipped central seconds hand. The hour markers and hands are diamond-cut and treated with Super-LumiNova for enhanced legibility.
The caseback of the watch features a large openworked rose gold-coated rotor inscribed with the watch's chronometer certification and limited edition status. The movement, known as the BR-110, is an automatic 4Hz chronograph with a column wheel and a power reserve of 60 hours. The blued column wheel ensures smooth operation of the pushers.
The Brellum Duobox 39 Chronometer is a limited edition timepiece, with only 46 pieces available per color. It comes with a black calfskin leather strap and a stainless steel bracelet. The retail price, including VAT and worldwide shipping, is undisclosed. The watch can be ordered exclusively online from November 15th, 2024, on the Brellum website.
