Aera Introduces New Mechanical Chronographs with Distinctive Design

2024-10-16 // LePodium.NET
Aera expands its collection with the C-1 Shadow and C-1 Cloud mechanical chronographs, featuring unique design elements and exceptional craftsmanship. Each watch is made with a large but soft pebble-like case, curved lugs, integrated straps, and one-piece "dished" dials. The Shadow model is finished in matte black PVD coating, while the Cloud model sports a standard 904L case. Both chronographs use the Sellita SW510 Bi-compax automatic caliber and come with two straps and a handmade leather pouch. Limited to 300 pieces each, these watches are sure to appeal to collectors looking for something different.

Aera, a microbrand known for its design-led approach, has released its first mechanical chronographs, the C-1 Shadow and C-1 Cloud. These watches stay true to the brand's design philosophy, featuring a large and soft pebble-like case, curved lugs, integrated straps, and one-piece "dished" dials. The Shadow model has a matte black finish, while the Cloud model has a pale matte grey-blue dial. Both watches use the Sellita SW510 Bi-compax automatic caliber with 56 hours of power reserve. The cases are made of 904L stainless steel, and the watches come with two straps - a rubber one and a leather one.

The C-1 Shadow Chronograph stands out with its contrast and dark appearance. The matte black case and curved bezel with engraved black numerals create a striking look. The recessed chronograph subdials feature white markings, and red lacquered subdial counters add a pop of color. The AERA logo at 12 o'clock is machined from solid Globolight, adding a three-dimensional touch. The watch comes with a black rubber strap and an orange leather strap.

The C-1 Cloud Chronograph offers a softer and lighter tone with a pale matte grey-blue dial. The white subdials and dark grey markings create a contrasting look, while the sky blue chronograph subdial hands and center seconds hand add a touch of color. The AERA logo is also made of solid Globolight for a unique visual element. The Cloud model comes with a white rubber strap and a light grey calfskin strap.

In terms of pricing, the C-1 Shadow Chronograph is priced at £2100, and the C-1 Cloud Chronograph is priced at £1950. Both models are limited to 300 pieces and come with a handmade leather pouch. The first 100 pieces of each model are available for pre-order on Aera's website.

While these new chronographs have not been seen in person yet, previous models from Aera have received praise for their impressive build quality and distinctive design. The brand's unique approach to design sets it apart from other microbrands in the industry. If these chronographs prove to be successful, it will further solidify Aera's position as a brand with a loyal customer base and a commitment to unique and thoughtful design.
