In Novosibirsk, new clocks are being installed on the building of the instrument-making plant management, which is popularly called the "book house" because of its unusual architecture, according to "CS-info". The electronic display, which adorned the building since the 1960s and was considered a marvel of urban thought at that time, was removed over a year ago during the reconstruction of the plant management. After the reconstruction, the property owner announced that they would install a modern liquid crystal display instead of the old display.
However, the city's art council strongly objected to this, banning the placement of advertising video screens in the square after the installation of the "Novosibirsk - a city of labor valor" monument. It is not yet known what the design of the new clocks will be.
Earlier, "Precedent" reported that the city administration of Novosibirsk commented on the disappearance of clocks from Kalinin Square.
