In the first hours of the "Science for Victory" dictation, more than 229,000 high school and university students participated across regional schools, colleges, and higher education institutions. The event, which took place in Moscow at Lomonosov Moscow State University and the House of Scientists at the Kurchatov Institute, featured 25 questions developed by historians from the Center for the History of Russian Science and Technological Development at RSUH.
The dictation aims to highlight the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and emphasize the role of science and technology in the Soviet Union's wartime achievements. By engaging young minds, the event seeks to foster a deeper appreciation for the historical contributions of science during critical periods.
The event underscores the importance of scientific progress during times of conflict and serves as a reminder of the resilience and innovation that defined the Soviet Union's wartime efforts.
